words of encouragement

Updated: Jul 3, 2019

Have y'all noticed the verse inside our logo? It's Jeremiah 1:5 which says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."

How did I choose that verse to be so special to put in a logo? That was a great question that I figured some people wondered about so I thought I would share my thought process while being as transparent as possible in doing so.

Well, to be honest, it sort of just came to me one day. I remember reading it and thinking,

"wow, maybe this baby isn't just a mistake or an accident, especially if God knew her before I had even thought about her."

I would read the verse over and over and it gave me so much comfort in knowing that it was all in God's plan for me to become a mother to this little girl at such a young age.

Previously, I had so much guilt, shame and disappointment in myself for allowing myself to be in such a situation, but after reading this verse and really dwelling on it, it pretty much changed my life and outlook on becoming a young parent. After God gave me the vision of starting this nonprofit, I knew that I wanted to share it with every other young mom I came in contact with. Just the comfort and love from God, knowing it was going to be okay, he had a plan and it would all work together for my good, allowed me to turn my focus from sadness and shame to being able to walk into motherhood with my head up.
