So being a mom, you tend to have to be creative a lot. Creative with activities, creative with food and probably have to get creative with new disciplines. Luckily for me, I'm a creative person so this can be fun for me (most of the time). One thing me and my daughter like to do is make our own trail mix. I think I may have found a cute recipe for a kids trail mix on Pinterest and so we tried it. She loves to make trail mix. And the best part about it is, you can put whatever you want in it. So your trail mix can be super healthy, or not so healthy. Either way you can pick and choose what your kid will like in it and they'll enjoy it.
Here is the last trail mix we made. It had Cheerios, Fruitloops. goldfish and marshmallows.
What I like about making your own trail mix is that you can tailor it to the person. I like to make mine a sweet and salty mix. She likes a lot of very plain things, not sweet at all.
Also, you can make it in a large quantity and store it somewhere where you can just take a scoop and put it in a baggie when you're on the go.
AND, its a fun idea to make together. You can have them help measure how much of each thing to put in the bowl and to help prepare snack baggies for lunch or just snacks on the go.
